#RUN SILVERLIGHT IN FIREFOX INSTALL#
I'd backup ~/.wine first, just to be safe.Īnother thing to look for is to see if Play on Linux can install a newer Wine that can do Silverlight in your home folder in a "wine bottle".

I did get a report that the 64-bit mcr120 version on Wheezy made 4 out of 5 programs stop working, but if this was a bad luck regression, or something worse, is still TBD. The mcr85 versions will work with Squeeze, the mcr110 or mcr120 with Wheezy. I realize that you may feel like you can't do any of those. Find something else that allows silverlight to run where the stuff runs and isn't an additional security risk.
#RUN SILVERLIGHT IN FIREFOX PRO#
Windows Pro or additional Windows key may be necessary. I'd recommend removing all the Debian wine packages, then installing the single deb with gdebi. CLOSE FIREFOX before running these commands open a terminal and type the following commands one by one. Use VM of older compatible Windows where silverlight still runs to run the outdated stuff while on newer Windows. They are single deb packages, instead of the multiple-lib version that Debian creates. Ironic that they are using an open source video to test DRM. Most browser plug-ins (including Silverlight, Flash, Java and almost all ActiveX controls) only work in 32-bit browsers currently. Plus the diff I did between wine-compholio's source and vanilla wine 1.6 showed no difference. RECOMMENDED: Use Silverlight in the 32-bit Internet Explorer process on 圆4 systems.

I did test Wine 1.6 on a Silverlight DRM test page, after manually installing Silverlight 4 and Win Firefox 18 (avoiding the need for netflix-desktop), and it did work.
